FAQs
Billing and Enrollment Questions
Classes are billed on the 1st of the month. After classes are billed on the 1st of the month Flying Fish does not offer partial credits or refunds for lessons that are not attended within that month.
Yes, your billing for the month will be pro rated to reflect your lessons remaining in that month.
If your day of the week has 4 or 5 lessons for the month you will be charged $112 for Group lessons or for the Sharks in Training course. You will be charged $100 for Parent Tadpole. If a 5th lesson is in your month that lesson is free and will not be charged. The above prices will be divided by 4 for prorating.
For instance, if you enroll mid-month and only have two lessons scheduled in the month the billing for the month will be 50% of the above costs. Group Lessons will be $56, Parent Tadpole $50.
No you do not. Once you are enrolled your lesson day and time is reserved as yours for each following month until you place a drop date.
A future drop date must be submitted by the 25th of the current month for you not to be billed on the 1st for the following month. You can fill out a drop form at the Front Desk or by emailing Aaron Bond at [email protected] or Anya Lopez-Fuentes at [email protected].
Yes you can. The next month will then be prorated to reflect your future drop date.
You can fill out a Transfer form at the front desk or email Aaron Bond at [email protected] or Anya Lopez-Fuentes at [email protected] to request a new lesson day and time.
You can make up one missed lesson per calendar month. You have 30 days from the date of the absence to schedule a make up lesson, after 30 days the make up lesson will expire. You can record absences and schedule one make up lesson per calendar month from within your Parent Portal.
There is a $35 annual membership fee at the time of registration. Flying Fish is proud to be an Academy and we offer amenities to our members that are not offered by other swim schools.
Swimming Lessons Questions
We teach both the Minnow and Flying Fish courses in the same 30 minute class. When your child begins their first lesson we will evaluate and quickly have your child in the proper course and at the proper level.
Your child's swim lessons will begin immediately. For example, if you register Monday at 9:00am for a Monday class at 3:15pm your first class will be that same day at 3:15pm.
Yes, you can place a future enrollment two weeks in advance. For example, if you would like to start June 17th you can enroll for that class on June 3rd.
When you Register you will see a Comment Box at the bottom of the Registration form. Type the date you would like to begin into that box.
On your first day of class we will provide you with a welcome folder. Within your welcome folder are detailed descriptions of the skills for all 7 of the Minnow levels and all 7 of the Flying Fish levels.
Your swimmer will need a snug swimsuit, goggles and a towel. If your child has long hair it is helpful for them to wear a swim cap or have their hair tied back. For our Parent Tadpole class your child will need to be double diapered. Parents can purchase swim diapers, goggles, and swim caps at Flying Fish.
We keep the pool temperature at 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Our pool uses a commercial ultraviolet system to keep our water sparkling.
Flying Fish will keep track of your swimmer’s progress through our JackRabbit portal. You can look at these skills via your parent portal. You can also ask the deck coach for an update after your child's lesson.
Our coaches strive every lesson to teach your child the skills to proceed to the next level. Check in with the deck coach for updates and insights on your child's progress.
All Flying Fish coaches will obtain CPR and first aid certifications. Our deck coaches will be lifeguard certified. The coaches receive extensive training in the Flying Fish curriculum and have a background check performed.
Your child will learn the levels more quickly when taught by more than just one coach. All of our coaches have their unique style with the talent to connect and bring out the best in your child.
While being near a parent can be comforting at first; our experience shows that having a parent nearby can lead to a distracted swim lesson. Our observation area provides each parent an excellent view of their swimmer.
